Affirmations, or as I like to call them - positive statements of power, are vital to self-confidence and if taken seriously, can be an important ritual to take part in. Below I have listed how you can boost your confidence tenfold with these affirmations and positive statements of power.

But before we get to the list I just want to explain to you the importance of having these positive statements of power. The thing is, nobody else will ever lift your confidence and self-esteem more than you will. And simply by repeating positive statements to yourself not only will boost your confidence tenfold, but there are other benefits too.

One of the best things you will get out of repeating these statements is that it will stop you from ever second-guessing yourself. It will stop you from doubting yourself and criticizing yourself. It keeps you away from depression and from making bad life choices, and it propels you towards opportunities and positive experiences.

But it all comes down to the types of statements and affirmations you are telling yourself. I have personally come across many statements that didn’t resonate with me nor make me feel empowered.

YOU NEED TO FEEL EMPOWERED WHEN YOU REPEAT YOUR AFFIRMATIONS.

This is because the key to finding the right statement for yourself is centered on the very thing you often doubt yourself in.




Counteract Your Personal Doubts

Some of my own personal doubts have included:

  • I don’t like who I am

  • I will never get promoted at work

  • Nobody loves or cares about me

  • I am not good enough/talented enough/brave enough to make more money  

  • Nothing good ever happens to me

Go ahead and repeat the above statements and see how they make you feel. I’m guessing it makes you feel weak and inferior. And if it does, then it just goes to show the power that words can have on your mental well-being, and in-directly, your behaviour in life.  

So if you have your own negative statements then it is worth writing them down now because when you use what you feel personally negative about and flip it around, your mind has this wonderful capability of believing what you say.

This would be more so than saying a statement that doesn’t resonate with you so much. When you believe a negative statement about yourself, your brain will automatically believe the flip side too, the positive aspect of that statement that is.

So if you believe yourself when you say “I don’t like who I am”, your mind will automatically look for evidence of why this is true.  But instead change your statement to “I really like who I am” or “I really love who I am”, then your mind is going to look for evidence of why that is also true.  

You see your mind doesn’t have an agenda the way somebody else would if they praised you. In order to believe what you say, you must know that it is already true and look for evidence of why it is true. You can achieve this through determination, will or even justifying why that particular statement is true. So to give you an example:

  • I love who I am because I am always working on improving myself

  • I am relentless at work because I am constantly going above and beyond improve the business

  • I am confident in my abilities because I have so much drive and energy to succeed

  • I love and care about me because I am a good person and that is enough

  • I am good enough to earn double my salary because I am relentless and driven

  • Good things are always happening to me because I am noticing them more.

Believe In The Future You

Something I have learned through self-hypnosis is the power of believing you can be whomever you choose to be. If you would love to be the most confident person in a room full of people, then know that it is easily achievable.

Unlike any other mammal, we humans have the power to pick and choose what we believe in. So if you think that you are a shy person and unworthy of attention, then the only thing stopping you from being confident and worthy of attention is not having the desire to want it enough.

But as long as you want it and desire it then you already have everything in your power to achieve it. It is really that simple.

If you would love to be the kind of person who can command a room with total ease and effortlessness, all it takes is the willingness to see it in your own mind over and over again. I want to emphasize OVER AND OVER AGAIN because it is the consistency of repeating empowering statements that gets you there. It is never enough to do it just the once.

If you dream of standing on a stage speaking confidently to hundreds or even thousands of people, then see yourself within your own mind being at total ease in that situation and talk it into reality. Talk yourself into its reality.

You can use your dreams and desires to create positive statements of power as if you have already achieved them and keep on repeating statements such as these to emphasize the point:

  • I am very confident in myself

  • I love talking to big crowds of people because they love to hear me speak  

  • I am so at ease when I speak to large numbers of people

  • I thrive most when I am confident in myself

  • I love feeling confident and so at ease

  • I have the ability to speak to large crowds of people and I just love it

 

 

Make Them Personal

So if you want to create your own positive statements of power then be sure to use any criticisms or doubts that you currently have and flip them around into positive and uplifting statements. And if you have any dreams and desires of the future you, then be sure to think about what you would like to be good at and create positive uplifting statements as though you already are what you wish to be.
